Shi Lirong featured in top 20 of Global Telecoms Business Power 100

Shi Lirong, executive director and president, ZTE Corporation (ZTE) (H share stock code: 0763.HK / A share stock code: 000063.SZ), a publicly listed global provider of telecommunications equipment and network solutions, is one of the most powerful executives in the global telecoms industry, according to influential trade publication Global Telecoms Business.

The Global Telecoms Business Power 100 is an annual list announcing the top 100 executives helping to shape the world's ICT landscape. Shi Lirong has been a long-standing participant in the list, and this year has achieved his highest ever position - number 18. He is one of just four senior Chinese executives to be listed in the top 20, including China Mobile's Li Yue.

Alan Burkitt-Gray, the editor of Global Telecoms Business, a leading telecommunications industry publication with a worldwide readership, together with a panel of industry experts, selects the list from a huge number of senior executives from service providers, technology vendors and regulatory communities.

"Shi Lirong is one of the chief architects behind ZTE's international drive and globalisation efforts, especially in 4G LTE," said Burkitt-Gray. "Under his leadership, ZTE has become a leading global provider of telecommunications equipment and network solutions. According to the company, the World Intellectual Property Organisation has ranked it first for patent applications for two years running, filing 3 906 this year, double that of its closest competitor."
