Service Parts Logistics (SPL), the largest parts solutions provider in Africa, today formally announced for the first time that it is the sole parts reseller in Africa for NEC.
"We believe this extension of our capability confirms that our model, originally pioneered with Apple and HP, is one that is extremely acceptable to both our principals and our partners," commented Des Stroud, Managing Director of SPL. "We continue to work closely with service providers (SPs) to customise stock holdings in line with the local installed base and projected sales. We believe that this sort of detailed and focused attention to parts distribution is vital to maintain the required levels of after sales service."
"As is the case with Apple, Fujitsu Siemens, HP and NEC Packard Bell, our National Logistics Control centre in Randpark Ridge provides us with the ability to plan and distribute stock into our regional offices situated in Midrand, KZN and Cape Town and thus provide a high level first pass fill rate into our strategic customers greatly reducing their repair times," continued Stroud. In total, SPL has multiple depots strategically placed across the country.
"One of the major benefits that has arisen from our regional presence has been our ability to provide all our business partners with the comfort that their customers are being supplied nationally at service levels which allows them to deliver world-class IT services, on a par with Europe," concluded Stroud.
Japanese NEC Corp is one of the world's largest IT companies with annual revenues well in excess of $40 billion per year and a market capitalisation of over $12.5 billion.
