Servest signs IT outsourcing agreement with Dimension Data

The Servest Group has signed a full IT outsourcing contract with Dimension Data, the global IT solutions and services provider. The three-year agreement is worth approximately R43 million.

The Servest Group provides multiservice solutions such as cleaning, hygiene, interior and exterior landscaping, security, turf and parking to over 7 000 clients throughout South Africa and the United Kingdom.

By outsourcing its IT operations, Servest will have the flexibility to concentrate on its core business and react quickly to business demand, providing a flexible and highly responsive service that adapts to changing requirements and delivers operational efficiencies that will contribute to the company's growth and competitiveness.

According to Mike Bouw, Group IT Manager, Servest: “Dimension Data has the resources to deliver, offers flexibility, the ability to innovate and is willing to manage the environment to fulfil our business needs.”

As part of the agreement, Dimension Data will provide comprehensive managed IT services to the Servest Group, including the provision of data centre servers and storage, data recovery with replication, hosting and wide area network infrastructure. The company will also provide support services such as governance, service desk, connectivity, and hosting, as well as front- and back-office services.

Servest's IT environment has always been outsourced and the company chose Dimension Data as the new supplier.

Dennis Zietsman - Chief Executive Officer, Servest Group, said: “We chose Dimension Data as our preferred solution partner because they are the leaders in the IT outsourcing space.

Our experience of their commitment, high levels of service delivery and professionalism will enable Servest to keep its vital ICT infrastructure running in peak condition.”

Through its extensive operational support and infrastructure, shared international best practice standards and continuous assistance via its national call centre, the Servest Group offers a specialised and expert outsourcing platform. This IT outsourcing agreement will allow the company to consolidate its own ICT infrastructure, independently support its outsourcing business, and prepare the business for future growth.

“The Dimension Data solution will provide the IT infrastructure on which we can build business solutions that provide better information and improve communication to our customers,” said Bouw.

Brent Flint, Services Executive: Dimension Data Middle East & Africa, said: “Our role is to help Servest successfully differentiate itself through the innovative use of IT to enhance its service offerings and fulfil current and future requirements. Our managed services solutions will accelerate Servest's drive to become more competitive and client-focused.”

For Dimension Data, the agreement confirms that outsourcing IT and other peripheral services is becoming the norm as companies concentrate on their core business.

The company's global capabilities in the IT services marketplace were recognised with its positioning in the Challengers Quadrant in Gartner's Magic Quadrant for Communications Outsourcing and Professional Services, Worldwide.

The company also recently received an award for managed service excellence from Frost and Sullivan.
