Sanrad adds to SANs

Sanrad, storage virtualisation, management and disaster recovery provider, has added storage Service Level Assurance (SLA) functionality to its V-STOR and V-Switch SAN solutions, reports Data Storage Connection.

"Until now, SLA was only available in costly high-end SAN products. With our SLA as the new standard for SMEs, Sanrad directly lets smaller organisations enjoy the cost-savings and reduction of the ecological footprint of SAN virtualisation," says Oded Ilan, CEO of Sanrad.

Without SLA, high-demand applications require their own separate infrastructures to ensure quality of service.

NEC obtains BSI certification

NEC has been awarded with BS25999-2 certification for business continuity management systems through the British Standard Institution (BSI), according to ACNNewswire.

In the event of an unforeseen disaster, such as a powerful earthquake or typhoon, terrorist attack or influenza pandemic, NEC is required to recover quickly and to continue providing the essential IT infrastructure that supports mission-critical banking, telecommunications, government systems etc.

Continuity adds HA gap detection

Recognising that disaster recovery includes more than just data protection, Continuity Software is adding high availability (HA) gap detection and reporting to a new version of its RecoverGuard software, INFOSTOR reports.

Continuity has unveiled RecoverGuard 4.0, with improvements in the areas of cluster system support, root cause analysis, and HA gap detection and reporting, all of which are aimed at monitoring and validating customers' DR and business continuity restore point and restore time objectives.

The company is adding four new components to the RecoverGuard 4.0 release, including HA Cluster Verification, root cause analysis, deployment analysis, and a tool called the Comprehensive Availability Advisor.
