Online retailer Kalahari.net and health Web site health24.com have joined forced to launch an online health store selling non-prescription medicines.
The store, housed on both sites, offers a range of health products, nutritional supplements, homeopathic treatments and non-prescription medication. It also links to health information on health24.com, and health books and videos available through Kalahari.net`s book section.
Kalahari.net CEO Hein Pretorius says it is clear that online health services are becoming more popular, with Nielsen/Net Ratings reporting double- and triple-digit growth for top health sites in January.
"Kalahari.net specialises in e-commerce and we will not pretend to be health specialists," he says.
In its quest to become a "true one-stop online shop" to its customers, Kalahari.net says it opted to partner with a credible brand name in health to launch the health shop.
Health24.com CEO Danie Pauw says the shop facility will also be integrated into content sections of the health site, to allow users to buy products suited to specific health conditions.
