Redwood Software local distributor IDXOnline has announced the availability of version 6.0.1 of Cronacle, Redwood Software`s event driven business process automation and job scheduling platform. Redwood Software is a worldwide provider of infrastructure automation and electronic document delivery and archive solutions.
Cronacle combines automated processing, driven by real-time business events, with traditional job scheduling across the enterprise. Cronacle version 6.0.1 introduces added features that enable new and established Cronacle customers to fully exploit emerging technologies whilst retaining control of their existing systems.
According to IDXOnline Enterprise Solutions business manager Bruce Bean, this latest release of Cronacle from Redwood Software will be of great interest and benefit to the many large corporations in South Africa. "Especially those currently battling with enterprise level job scheduling issues and those looking to optimise their significant investments in IT systems such as SAP and IBM Mainframes."
New features delivered with Cronacle version 6.0.1 include the integration with SAP Solution Manager. Cronacle is the only scheduling solution that has achieved a certified bi-directional integration with SAP Solution Manager. Cronacle`s infrastructure and process information can be used in Business Process Monitoring to support non-SAP processes. Additionally, Cronacle can utilise Business Process Alerts and Metrics to perform Auto-Recovery and SLA based load balancing throughout the enterprise.
Furthermore, Cronacle version 6.0.1 has enhanced integration with IBM Mainframe Systems. Cronacle 6.0.1 has an enhanced interface with JES2 and JES3 to enable the further integration of IBM z/OS and OS/390 processes. Also CronacleBeans, Cronacle`s JAVA and J2EE scheduling component, can now run on z/OS systems. Complex dependencies between the mainframe and other systems can be managed from a single administrative and operational interface bringing the mainframe further into Cronacle`s business oriented approach to process automation.
Communications between components in the Cronacle environment can now exploit XML`s robust and non-proprietary features for the storage and transmission of text and data both on and off the Web. CronacleBeans can be embedded in leading J2EE application servers, including BEA WebLogic, IBM WebSphere, Oracle 9iAS, SAP NetWeaver and JBoss. Java job definitions can be managed via Cronacle`s Redwood Explorer interface in addition to the standard Ant based tools.
Customers deploying systems based on 64bit processors are now able to exploit the strengths of Cronacle on these systems across all operating systems.
"Already capable of delivering performance ahead of alternative solutions, Cronacle has been enhanced to increase further the number of jobs per second that can be submitted such that real-time transactional type processing is possible for background tasks," says Bean.
"Benchmarks using two single CPU systems have enabled 25 jobs per second to be created, scheduled, executed and monitored. Increased alerting and monitoring capabilities ensure immediate propagation of exception events to operational staff and automatic execution of corrective actions."
"In addition there have been many changes to further increase the simplicity of product installation and use that, when combined with low level application integration and a unique level of support for JAVA and J2EE environments, make Cronacle the most complete job scheduling and business process automation solution available today," he concludes.
