RedLinX, SYNAQ relationship grows from strength to strength

Johannesburg, 19 Jan 2011

RedLinX High Performance Systems (HPS from here on), one of the four divisions within RedLinX, has been supplying SYNAQ with technology solutions for the past two years, and has become SYNAQ's preferred hardware supplier.

The majority of the hardware that RedLinX HPS has been supplying SYNAQ consists of Tyan servers. RedLinX is the sole distributor of Tyan products in Africa.

Says Darryl Sutherland, engineer at SYNAQ: "We use Tyan servers internally and externally. A large percentage of the solutions we provide to customers are implemented in-house, and the fact that operating systems are shifting to 64bit platforms, led us to acquire a 64bit Tyan B7002 1U server (part nr: RL-SRV-2004) to implement a dedicated deployment and testing framework for our clients' implementations."

The Tyan B7002 1U server, Dual Intel Xeon Quad Core, Dual HDD (SAS), has a three-year warranty. Other key features include:

* Two x Intel Xeon E5504 Quad Core 2.0 GHz Processor
* 6GB DDR-3 ECC RAM (Options up to 24 GB)
* Two x 146GB SAS HDD (Options up to 2 x 600 GB)
* Three x Gigabit Ethernet Ports
* Two x PCI-Express Slot for Single Slot Card Expansion
* DVD-RW
* IPMI v2.0 Compliant, with iKVM
* Form Factor: 1U (645 x 436 x 43.6mm with bezel)

The Tyan B7002 1U server has sufficient power to support a full 64bit WAN simulation, 64bit CPU virtualisation that has sufficient CPU capacity and memory to handle a populated simulated LAN.

"RedLinX exceeded our wildest expectations by matching good pricing with stable, solid hardware and by their willingness to accommodate our needs," comments Adi Meyers, Operations Director at SYNAQ. When asked why she chooses RedLinX, Meyers comments: "Prices are reasonable, more so on the higher end than the lower end, but that's not the main reason we go with RedLinX. We choose to work with RedLinX due to the service offered. They are willing to consult us technically on requirements and recommend a solution that suits our needs. After-sales service has also always been excellent: fast and efficient, never giving us hassles."

Concludes Graham Maart, director at RedLinX: "RedLinX prides itself in working closely with each client to ensure that we always find the best and most cost-effective solution that has long-term sustainability for their business. The key offerings to SYNAQ and their clients are proof of this."
