Red Hat Powertools 5.2, a two-CD-ROM set which includes graphics and sound software; fax, security, pilot link and finance software; and PERL archive, is also available, for R399 incl. VAT.
Simplified installation, the Apache 1.3 web server, the GIMP 1.0 graphics package, and an application CD featuring around 50 applications are among the features of Red Hat Linux 5.2.

The tremendous growth in the number of applications that have been ported to Linux is evident in the application-packed CD, which includes packages such as Sybase's enterprise database server; a fully functional office automation suite by Applix; C/C++ by Code Forge; CWMail, a full-featured web-based e-mail client, VariCad, a mechanical CAD system; Word Perfect for Linux by Corel; and XessLite Spreadsheet.
Industry insiders report that both Hewlett-Packard and Tivoli Systems plan to extend their management platforms to the open-source Linux platform.
