Accounting and business management software solutions specialist Lorge has been contracted by broad-based civil engineering company Protech Khuthele Holdings (PKH) to implement, service, support and maintain Sage ERP X3 software.
As an engineering company specialising in fast-track contracts, it is important for PKH to ensure current and future requirements are met by the Sage ERP X3 solution. The initial implementation will include financials, procurement, stock control, fixed assets and reporting. Specific requirements relating to contract progress certificates will also be managed within the Sage ERP X3 software.
“As a full-service enterprise management software system for mid-to-large businesses, Sage ERP X3 deals effectively with even the most elaborate business processes,” says Keith Fenner, Vice-President - Sales for Sage Africa. “It is cost-effective, quick to implement and simple to use, offering an efficient solution for companies with multiple locations.”
Martin van Blerk, head of Lorge's Sage ERP X3 division, which received a Best Achiever award for Sage ERP X3 in 2010, said the solution offers PKH a full suite of stock, procurement and accounting functions to fully support critical processes that drive the business.
“The needs of PKH can only be met by an ERP accounting software package that has strong functionality and features relating to stock, procurement and analytical accounting backed by reliable software services,” said Van Blerk. “A fundamental need is to ensure management has immediate and ongoing access to critical business information across all remote locations.”
One of the major advantages of Sage ERP X3, according to Nellis Wolmarans, financial director at PKH, is the software's ability to accurately and easily update the analytical ledger to ensure reporting goes down to project level with easy drill-down to the source transaction. The other advantage is the development toolkit that gives PKH the ability to track critical information on project costs and progress.
For an expanding business, creating a new company is easy and effective in Sage X3. Van Blerk said the system and software is also geared to accommodate group expansion into countries throughout Africa and worldwide.
