PRAGMA (Pty) Ltd, leaders in Asset Management solutions in Southern Africa, has recently been awarded a position in the Deloittes Technology Fast 50 rankings for 2001. PRAGMA has clinched position number 36 out of the list of the top 50 of South Africa`s technology organisations.

The Deloittes Technology Fast 50 is a ranking of the fastest growing technology organisations in South Africa based on percentage growth in turnover over the last three reporting years. The Deloittes Technology Fast 50 is based on the Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Technology Fast 50 that has been run very successfully in the United States. It was started in San Jose, California (Silicon Valley) in 1995 and has expanded to 21 Fast 50 initiatives in the USA and 8 global Fast 50 initiatives in Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia and the Netherlands. Receiving a Fast 50 listing is a quantum achievement and is quickly becoming a competitive benchmark within the global technology community.

Since 1990, PRAGMA has entrenched itself as a supplier of choice Asset Management solutions to an ever-growing group of industry leaders, all of whom own substantial physical assets, which need to be managed and maintained to achieve optimum effectiveness, by own and/or outsourced resources. The result of PRAGMA`s interventions, help assist organisations to achieve ROI (Return on Investment) in their physical assets (plant, equipment, buildings, etc).

PRAGMA`s products and services can be divided into three categories, namely Asset Management consulting (AMIP), Asset Performance Management software (ON KEY) and support services (BURO and Placements).

The criteria according to which PRAGMA was measured for the competition was:

* The organisation must have been in business for a minimum of 3 financial years

* The organisation must be operating in South Africa

* The organisation may be private, public or a parastatal organisation

* The organisation must develop proprietary technology which contributes to the major portion of its operating revenues, manufacture or improve a technology-related product, or devote a high percentage of effort to research and development of technology or technology-related products.

"We are extremely excited and proud of this achievement, one for which we have worked very hard," said Adriaan Scheeres, CEO of PRAGMA Holdings. "It is also reassuring to see that we are the only Asset Management solutions organisation listed in the top 50 that can provide consulting, software and outsourcing in this field and thereby verifying that we are the leaders in Southern Africa."
