Platinum Press goes high-volume digital with Oc

ONS Printers, based in Vanderbijlpark, is keeping abreast of technological innovation in the printing industry with the acquisition of an Oc'e VarioPrint 2100.

ONS Printers is the head office of The Platinum Press, a printing organisation with operations in North West Province, the Free State and Gauteng. The various subsidiaries have a range of offerings, including magazine publishing, litho and digital printing, signage, silk screening, corporate clothing, promotional items, etc. ONS specialises in digital and litho printing and product finishing solutions. The company offers one- to full-colour printing and prides itself on being able to produce high volumes with a short turnaround time.

ONS provides a comprehensive printing solution for training and educational organisations, particularly high volume analogue and digital printing, the latter incorporating data merging, variable data and print on demand. All of these requirements are met by the Oc'e VarioPrint 2100, which provides an ideal balance between speed, quality, analogue and digital, according to Andries de Kock, Group Director of ONS Printers.

The Oc'e VarioPrint 2100 is a new machine - literally hot off the press - that was launched at Oc'e OpenHouse at the end of February this year. The 91-page-per-minute system is a scalable printing solution that gives flexibility and the opportunity to customise functionality. It offers maximum output via multi-tasking and automated image enhancing to ensure consistent quality. De Kock says his company is utilising the machine to print study material that incorporates variable data, such as learners` names, identification numbers, institution`s name, etc.

He adds: "ONS is committed to remaining at the cutting-edge of our industry in order to guarantee our clients competitive products. Our Oc'e printing systems, particularly the VarioPrint 2100, ensure we meet this benchmark, allowing us to offer top quality print at cost-effective prices."

The company also runs Oc'e 3100 and Oc'e 3105 high volume printing systems.
