Pink Elephant congratulates its SMEXA award prize winners

Johannesburg, 30 Jul 2013

Pink Elephant would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all its prize winners on their outstanding achievements and awards received at this year's SMEXA, which took place from 24-25 July.

SMEXA '13, which is hosted by the itSMF -South Africa, presented a number of awards including Student Excellent Awards, honouring top students who have achieved extraordinary results across all ITIL and ISO certifications, Honouring Life Member Awards and the Top Project Award.

Pink Elephant is proud of its delegates who were honoured with these awards, and would like to congratulate each and every one of them on their efforts, hard work and dedication put in to achieve these awards. A special mention to the company's top student award winners, who walked away with five out of the six awards received.

Bertus van Staden - Van Staden received the Student of the Year Award - this award is given to the ITIL student who has achieved extraordinary results across all certifications. Van Staden started his journey with Pink Elephant in February this year, and successfully passed all his ITIL Intermediates and went onto taking his Managing Across the Lifecycle Exam, in June, and passed all examinations including his Managing Across the Lifecycle on his first attempt, with outstanding results. Well done Van Staden on your achievements.

Student Excellent Awards

Blessing Mujokoro received the Student Excellence Award for Service Operation.
Lusanda Sibisi received the Student Excellence Award for Release, Control and Validation.
Avesh Singh and Constance Kruger both received the Student Excellence Awards for Continual Service Improvement.

Well done to all Pink Elephant students mentioned above! This is an outstanding achievement for all.

A very special award was that given to Project of the Year. This project was awarded to Telkom Cybernest on its ISO/IEC 20000 Certification.

In March of this year, following an extensive certification audit conducted by the British Standards Institute's Registered Certification Body (BSI-Group) and facilitated by Pink Elephant, Telkom's "Basic Hosting" service was awarded certification for the ISO/IEC: 20000-2011 International Standard for IT Service Management. This comes after an 18-month consulting engagement that saw Pink Elephant consultants assisting and guiding Telkom's "Cybernest" business unit to establish a service management system and to refine and implement all the processes and procedures required by the standard.

The ISO/IEC: 20000-2011 standard is published by the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) and is the first international standard for IT service management. It was developed in order to replace the older BS: 15000 (British) standard, developed by BSI itself. The standard closely adheres to the principles of the ITIL framework and many of its requirements are fulfilled by implementing ITIL processes and procedures.

Pink Elephant would like to congratulate Telkom on its hard work and dedication that each staff member put in to achieve such a significant achievement.
