Pick Systems Africa, a leading developer of multi-user, multi-value database management system (DBMS) software, has announced the immediate availability of its new Linux database release, D3 Linux v.7.2.
Compatible with Red Hat 6.0 and Linux-Mandrake 6.0 distributions of Linux and with VA Linux Systems hardware servers, the new release is an enhanced version of Pick Systems` proven, high-performance, cost-effective D3 Linux DBMS solution.
"We are even more confident that Pick`s D3 Linux DBMS will help move Linux-based applications into the enterprise," says Adrian Oxborrow, managing director of Pick Systems Africa.
"Not only does D3 scale well, but multiple operating systems can be seamlessly integrated with Pick`s D3 DBMS servers and tools to heterogeneously bring the data all together for the right business solution."
Pick Systems, for example, recently completed a Linux solution sale to Hill House Hammond in the U.K. The solution consisted of 252 D3 Linux DBMS servers with Pick`s FlashCONNECT web-enabling software running on IBMNetfinity 3000`s with D3 AIX DBMS corporate server running on a 5 node IBM RS/6000 SP.
"With this new release, our customers using D3 Linux with various hardware can take advantage of multiple processors and RAID technologies," says Oxborrow.
"Previously, only our customers using D3 Linux on VA Linux Systems servers could take advantage of these technologies," concludes Oxborrow.
