Partnership powers virtual self-service

New York-based OS33, an IT-as-a-service delivery platform for managed service providers (MSPs), has partnered with Cloupia, a cloud automation and management software provider, to power its virtual data centre controller, writes ChannelPro.

This provides self-service and automation tools for MSPs to rapidly provision virtual environments across public or private clouds from one interface.

Cloupia's Unified Infrastructure Controller (CUIC) technology enables companies to deliver infrastructure control, provisioning, management, and monitoring tools across physical, virtual, and cloud environments.

According to OS33, by incorporating the CUIC into the OS33 Virtual Datacenter Controller, MSPs will benefit from faster service delivery; improve resource utilisation to reduce costs; improve operational efficiencies through automated provisioning, monitoring, and capacity planning; and improve service levels with real-time visibility through continuous resource monitoring.

MSP Mentor notes that OS33 president and CEO, Jacob Kazakevich says OS33 needs to provide three layers as part of its cloud-based package for end-users: a user interface, a cloud control panel, and a virtual data centre controller that allows MSPs to deploy virtual resources.

“Our mission is to provide the MSP community with a unified, IaaS infrastructure.” OS33 unveiled its IaaS platform for MSPs in late February 2011.

Kazakevich believes OS33 has found the appropriate support solution for its virtual data centre controller in Cloupia. “We selected Cloupia as a partner because they have the easiest technology to integrate with our platform,” Kazakevich says. “We're very excited to partner with them and provide a full solution.”
