Smart card vendor On Track Innovations (OTI) Africa and BP Africa have signed an agreement to expand the FuelMaster network throughout 10 additional sub-Saharan African countries.

The three-year agreement with BP Africa will extend the FuelMaster network throughout the southeastern portion of the continent, achieving market penetration from SA to Kenya.

OTI says the agreement includes another 150 sites to facilitate cross-border fuelling in the region. FuelMaster is BP`s chosen brand name for OTI`s Gasoline Management System (GMS) in the African market.

The cross-continent network will assist fleet managers, providing fuel records and route tracking for international fleet traffic. This is an extension of the 400 FuelMaster sites in SA already utilising OTI products.

The three-year agreement between OTI Africa and BP Africa includes an option to extend the relationship for two additional years. The agreement stipulates that OTI Africa will provide the necessary GMS products, and subsequently provide installation, driver training, maintenance, repair, technical support and other services.

In addition to cash payments for the GMS products, BP will compensate OTI with transaction fees based on fuel volumes through the FuelMaster system and on-going service fees.

"We are extremely pleased to expand our relationship with BP Africa," says Charlotte Hambly-Nuss, MD of OTI Africa. "This is another step in our expansion strategy throughout all of Africa."

OTI Africa was recently selected as the technology provider to Info Africa for the Infinity Loyalty programme. Last month, FuelMaster Express was launched, providing FuelMaster functionality for private motorists.
