OpenText awarded panel contract to supply cloud-based enterprise content management to all New Zealand government agencies

OpenText (NASDAQ: OTEX, TSX: OTC), the global leader in enterprise information management (EIM), today announced that it has been named by the New Zealand Department of Internal Affairs as one of three high-profile panel providers selected to supply government agencies with cloud-based enterprise content management (ECM). These cloud-based services will enable access to data any time, anywhere, from any device.

"We are honoured to work with the government of New Zealand as they digitise their services," said OpenText CEO Mark J Barrenechea. "We look forward to working with the various agencies as they use our industry-leading ECM cloud technology to manage their digital information."

OpenText's EIM strategy, made up of five integrated suites, is designed to help agencies maximise the value of information and minimise risk associated with information management. The Content Suite will help secure and manage all information within and across government agencies.

OpenText ECM solutions will provide:

* Standard practices for provisioning, configuring and accessing services
* Strong support for interoperability, such as cloud office productivity services and agency legacy systems
* Access to data where and when needed, independent of device

Through the delivery of an up-to-date, standardised, simplified technology platform based around OpenText's integrated Content Suite, the New Zealand government agencies will be able to:

* Create and access information anywhere, any time
* Quickly and easily locate relevant data to be repurposed or shared
* Manage and govern information throughout its entire life cycle
* Seamlessly collaborate with users within and outside of the organisation

"OpenText Cloud Services provides a comprehensive range of end-to-end solutions by leveraging its global OpenText Cloud infrastructure, specialist support teams and extensive consulting experience across the OpenText EIM solutions," said Kevin Hayes, regional vice-president ANZ, OpenText. "We look forward to working with the various local New Zealand agencies in deploying the range of OpenText EIM solutions across small to large government departments."
