Online tool illustrates ownership in SA

Online business intelligence provider I-Net Bridge has released an Internet tool to illustrate ownership and control in corporate SA through organograms.

The organograms, researched and compiled by I-Net Bridge for a Financial Mail special survey, form part of the collection available to subscribers of I-Net Bridge`s BIS Companies module.

The company says the complement of about 80 organograms will be expanded to cover all leading South African corporate groups.

"With the prevailing high level of corporate activity, deriving an accurate picture of cross-company holdings is difficult enough without having to keep track of continuous changes in ownership," says Jane Tempest, companies programme manager at I-Net Bridge.

"I-Net Bridge updates its database on a daily basis, using every possible resource including the press, share registers and company announcements, so that yesterday`s breaking stories are interpreted for the user in today`s organogram," says Tempest.

These corporate structure diagrams are invaluable to anyone with an interest in the alliances and interrelationships of big business, particularly to senior executives, business professionals, journalists and management consultants in that they combine information from a number of sources into an easy-to-read, single page, graphic format, she adds.
