Obsidian announces first Red Hat Certified Architect course

Johannesburg, 06 Apr 2011

Obsidian, leading provider of enterprise open source in southern Africa, and one of Red Hat's first partners in the region, is proud to announce its first Red Hat Certified Architect (RHCA) level training course.

The Red Hat Enterprise Clustering and Storage Management (RH436) training programme introduces the next level of Red Hat's well-established and internationally recognised certifications to the South African market.

Comprising various certificates of expertise, the enhanced training programme will feature a four-day course as well as the applicable performance-based exam on the last day.

Scheduled to take place from 11-15 April 2011, the Red Hat Enterprise Clustering and Storage Management course will offer Senior Linux system administrators strong emphasis on lab-based activities using enterprise-class storage, server, and auxiliary equipment.

The course is ideal for experienced Linux system administrators responsible for managing shared storage across one or more Linux systems, and for maintaining a high availability service using cluster technology.

Attendees will gain intensive, hands-on experience with storage management, Red Hat Cluster Suite and the shared storage technology delivered by Red Hat Global File System.

“The RHCA training programmes are all about improving the quality of our channel partner skills,” says Muggie van Staden, managing director at Obsidian.
