NYSE acquires Corpedia
The New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) Euronext is set to acquire Corpedia, a global provider of governance, risk and compliance e-learning services, FinExtra reports.
NYSE claims the Corpedia acquisition will expand its range of global services available to its issuer community. The transaction is expected to close in June 2012. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
According to Jean-Marc Levy, SVP head of global issuer services, the NYSE says the acquisition will enable the stock exchange to provide its customers with additional governance products and services, Market Watch states.
Levy says: "This acquisition will provide our issuer community with high-value governance, risk and compliance education, communication and advice. The addition of Corpedia further enhances our services platform, and is consistent with our overall corporate strategy to unlock the potential of our global capital markets community by linking capital, issuers and innovative ideas."
Corpedia serves more than 500 businesses, representing all industry sectors and comprising approximately 25% of Fortune 500 companies, Business2Community says.
Corpedia's consultative service provides compliance diagnostics, risk assessment, curriculum mapping and peer benchmarking.
