Nortel Networks appoints EMEA president of enterprise solutions

Nortel Networks has appointed Peter George as president of its Enterprise Solutions line of business for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Well-known in the South African market, Peter George earned the appointment for his successful leadership of the Bay Networks EMEA operation.

Doug Batchelor, general manager of Nortel Networks` Enterprise Solutions line of business in South Africa, says: "Peter has an in-depth understanding of the South African market. This appointment is of great value to both Nortel and its customer base."

Bay Networks and Enterprise Networks have been combined into Enterprise solutions to provide Nortel Networks` customers with a unified commercial, technical and service experience as well as the benefits of integrated data and telephony networking.

Prior to his current appointment, Peter was president of the former Bay Networks line of business at Nortel Networks, EMEA and has led the Bay Networks organisation in EMEA since September 1996. He started with Bay Networks in 1993 at its New England operation.

Nortel Networks delivers value to customers around the world through Unified Networks solutions, spanning mission-critical telephony and IP-optimized networks. Customers include public and private enterprises and institutions; Internet service providers; local, long-distance, cellular and PCS communications companies; cable television carriers; and utilities.
