No-cost FREEdom e-learning solution
Geo On-Demand, a new entry into the e-learning space, has introduced the FREEdom programme, a no-cost e-learning solution available to organisations of all sizes, writes Chief Learning Officer Media.
Delivered entirely online via the Internet, any organisation can sign up one employee or thousands of employees for unlimited access to ten online courses covering important business training topics including HR, compliance and safety, Microsoft Office computer skills and business skills.
Geo On-Demand is the first organisation in the learning space to offer corporate online learning at no cost.
Training simulators to benefit doctors
The UK government's chief medical officer, Sir Liam Donaldson, says greater use of technology at every stage of training could save lives, reports BBC News.
He points out that there is one training simulator for every 300 pilots, compared to just one for every 7 300 doctors.
Doctors agreed technology should be embraced more, but added there was no substitute for on-the-job training.
Legal professionals get cybercrime training
Prosecutors and judges are having a hard time understanding computer crime, but a training course under way in 14 countries is aiming to improve how legal systems deal with cybercrime, states Network World.
The European Certificate on Cybercrime and Electronic Evidence (ECCE) course was developed over the last year and aims to give basic technical training, says Fredesvinda Insa, the ECCE's project manager who also works for the Spanish consultancy Cybex.
A three-year study conducted from 2004 to 2007 found that legal officials in 16 European countries had a lack of knowledge on how to deal with electronic evidence and other issues, Insa says.
