New managing director announced for Mint Management Technologies

Johannesburg, 20 Apr 2012

Mint Management Technologies (Mint) has announced that Carel du Toit has been appointed as Managing Director with immediate effect, taking over the reins from David Woolnough, who has resigned to take up an exciting position at one of South Africa's leading financial institutions to assist in their digital and mobility division.

“Mint has undergone a number of exciting changes and expansion over the past few months, and during this time, we have been focusing on our succession planning, part of which included developing a more senior role for Carel within the business,” said Woolnough. “The intent was for me to focus more on the strategic side of a business, with Carel succeeding me as the MD. The change in leadership was planned to only come into effect in the latter part of 2012, or early in 2013, but an opportunity outside of Mint presented itself and the Mint Board agreed to release me to take up this new challenge,” continues Woolnough.

“Carel is the right person for the job. I am exceptionally proud of everything he has achieved, and I am confident in his ability to lead Mint together with his exceptional Directorship Team,” said Woolnough.

“Mint is going places, and I am delighted to have the opportunity to continue the momentum of Mint's growth and success, and I look forward to the new chapter in Mint's history,” adds Du Toit.

Du Toit has been part of the Mint Directorship Team for the past six years, and has a longstanding relationship with Mint over his 12-year tenure with the company, which includes extensive experience in both the Consulting and Mobility operating entities within Mint.

“It is of vital importance that our customers, partners and service providers are aware that changes such as this have been planned for and that Mint has always adopted a strong position on succession planning and continuation.

“Mint's key stakeholders have felt very little impact from the changes Mint underwent earlier this year, and we are satisfied that everyone is comfortable that there will be no material changes to the interaction they currently experience with Mint,” said Du Toit.

“We have more exciting changes regarding our product offerings on the cards, so keep an eye on Mint,” smiles Du Toit in closing.
