Gunter Engling has been appointed as MD of Huge Telecom. His appointment will take effect when he joins Huge Telecom on 1 April after he has served his notice period with MTN.
Gunter has 14 years of experience in the telecommunications industry, primarily with the MTN Group. During his time at MTN, Gunter held a number of senior positions, including his present role as deputy group CFO of MTN Group.
Previous positions include acting group CFO, CEO for Rwanda, CFO for Ghana, and GM for financial planning in Nigeria.
"Gunter has some unique attributes, including operational, financial and African experience in the telecommunications arena. These skills will stand him in good stead to grow and drive the development of Huge Telecom," says James Herbst, CEO of the Huge Group.
"Handing over the reins of Huge Group's telecommunications subsidiary to Gunter is an exciting development for the business, which should unleash enormous growth prospects, the foundations of which have been carefully laid over the last several years."
