MTN yesterday announced an addition to its PayAsYouGo and TopUp exclusive price plan, MTN Zone.
Subscribers on MTN Zone will now have free talk time between 1am and 4am throughout the week. A per second billing price plan, MTN Zone offers customers discounts of up to 100% on calls and SMSes to MTN numbers, dependant on the user's location and time of day
Chief marketing officer of MTN SA Serame Taukobong says the service offering of extended free talk time, which the cellphone operator launched in September, was well received. “The uptake observed on MTN Zone throughout its history, from launch in 2007 to date, has been significant, growing considerably throughout the years leading to the current base of over 11 million subscribers.”
Taukobong adds that MTN Zone is one of the ways in which the company strives to remain “ahead of the curve”.
The offer applies to MTN-to-MTN calls only and does not include international calls, premium rated calls, data calls, video calls or MMS services.
