MQSoftware, Inc, a leading provider of middleware technology solutions, announced today an integrated version of its flagship Q Pasa! middleware management system with IBM`s Tivoli System Management solution.
This new offering delivers tighter integration between Q Pasa! and Tivoli management software that will allow businesses to manage more detailed information for IBM WebSphere MQ via the powerful, specialised application capabilities of Q Pasa! The Tivoli integration enhancement is immediately available in the latest release of Q Pasa! Version 3.
"Using Q Pasa!, along with Tivoli to monitor and manage a variety of IBM integration offerings - from WebSphere Business Integration to WebSphere MQ - will help customers link a variety of business processes together, increasing efficiency across the enterprise," said Bob Madey, vice-president, Tivoli Software, IBM.
"Today`s best practices for IT necessitate the need for closer working relationships between the infrastructure management tools and middleware management," said Bill Cecchi, president and chief executive officer at MQSoftware, Inc. "Our Q Pasa! middleware management solution for WebSphere MQ integrated with Tivoli can give our customers more insight into how their business lifeline is delivering value to the corporation."
"Increasingly organisations are asked for more than technical metrics, users want systems management information to become business-centric information," said Corey Ferengul, vice-president of META Group, Operations Strategies. "IT organisations are seeking data level integration between key tools, allowing them to extract and utilise data from these applications into useful views to understand business impact, as well as costs associated with operations."
The need for an integrated solution is being driven by the need to have better and more proactive management of an organisation`s enterprise infrastructure, including WebSphere MQ. The Q Pasa!/Tivoli integration is a significant advance in that Q Pasa! adds value to the robust enterprise infrastructure management services of Tivoli by expanding the range of messaging and middleware technologies it can monitor and manage. For example, Tivoli users will be able to directly or indirectly see and manage IBM WebSphere MQ, WebSphere MQ Integrator and WebSphere Business Integration through Q Pasa!
Using this integrated solution, Q Pasa! will be able to escalate events to Tivoli and then through the Tivoli Enterprise Console (TEC), an operator will be able to see it through the Tivoli Desktop. The administrator will then be able to easily select an action based on this information, like starting or stopping a channel or other actions that will provide optimal administration of WebSphere MQ. In addition, the integrated products allow Tivoli to monitor Q Pasa! service and agent availability from the TEC console.
