Motheo Apartments, a 54-room self-catering hospitality establishment based in Gaborone, Botswana, is consistently achieving a 90%-95% occupancy rate for the year, with management claiming its software system from NFS Technology Group has enabled it to "maintain business efficiencies".
This is according to the manager of Motheo Apartments, Trudy Kneale, who said the RoomMaster software solution from NFS Technology saves staff "several hours a day", and boosts both overall business efficiency levels and customer services levels.
"We are operating at a very high occupancy rating and, without the RoomMaster software - which gives us all the data we need on a plate - we would not be able to operate at this level."
The RoomMaster 2000 software solution is designed to manage hotels with as little as 10 rooms, up to establishments with more than 1 000 rooms. The software seamlessly handles reservations, sales ledger, point of sale, and commission-free Internet bookings.
Nicolette Kruger, operations manager at NFS Technology - formerly NFS Hospitality - said a number of "apartment-style" hospitably organisations in Botswana are now using software from the company. "We are increasing our footprint in Botswana, with outlets such as Innisfree Apartments and Motheo Apartments - both situated in Gaborone - as well as a number of hotels, now using our software."
She said the company's software solutions - including Summit Pro, Rendezvous and RoomMaster - are scalable enough to suit both "large and small establishments" - from hotels with just 10 rooms, to hotels with up to 1 000 rooms.
"Botswana is not a large market for us, but it is now significant enough to show up on our radar screen and to start making an impact on our overall revenue stream," said Kruger.
