With some 20 years’ experience in the ICT industry, Mickey Mashale has been appointed CEO of Nexio, a Vodacom company.
She will take the helm of the digital system aggregator and solution provider from the beginning of next month.
Mashale, who moved from the parent company in March and has been interim acting CEO for Nexio, has been tasked with driving the firm’s digital transformation strategy.
She was previously chief sales officer for Vodacom Business since February 2018.
Commenting on the appointment, Vodacom Business CEO William Mzimba, who also chairs the Nexio board, says: “We are pleased to welcome Ms Mickey Mashale as the new chief executive officer of Nexio. Mickey is recognised as one of the industry’s distinguished female business thought leaders.
“During her reign as interim acting CEO, Mickey has demonstrated a range of industry experience that has already produced positive results for the company, employees, stakeholders and its customers.”
In a statement, the company says Mashale has also held high-ranking positions in the telecoms sector in various capacities, including being managing executive and head of region for Vodafone Global Enterprise.
In that position, she was responsible for strategy, revenue retention, growth and expansion of Vodafone customers, for the Sub-Saharan region, giving her over 20 years’ experience in the industry locally and abroad.
“I look forward to taking up the position at such an exciting time where the company is on a digital journey to enable and transform its customer experience as a trusted IT partner for the digital future,” says Mashale.
Her achievements include being a member of the International Institute of Directors South Africa, and an MBA graduate from Wits Business School.
