MB Technologies founder and CEO Leo Baxter is in hospital awaiting surgery, following a spinal injury incurred while playing polo in Pietermaritzburg, sources say.
At the time of publication, ITWeb was unable to establish the exact nature and extent of his injuries, although, according to sources, doctors have not made a final diagnosis.
MB Technologies is preparing an official statement. In the meantime, it said Baxter is conscious and the accident will not affect the running of the company he established 20 years ago.
MB Technologies is a first tier supplier of IT products, and includes distribution players such as Tarsus, ACT, Printacom and Storgate.
Baxter started Tarsus Technologies at the age of 25 and, with long-time friend and business partner Mike McGrath, went on to establish MB Technologies.
