Marshal8e6, a global provider of Secure Web Gateway and e-mail security products to over 20 000 businesses worldwide, today announced the appointment of Silicon Valley veteran John Vigouroux as Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately.
"We are proud to have an executive of John's calibre and experience leading Marshal8e6," said Simon Wilson, Marshal8e6's Chairman of the Board. "Our company has the opportunity to become the go-to provider of integrated secure Web and e-mail gateway solutions, and we are confident that John's experience will be instrumental as we position ourselves to be a top player in this market."
Vigouroux has a proven track record in the information security industry of increasing top and bottom line results, most recently as President and CEO of Finjan, an enterprise Web security company headquartered in San Jose, California. Vigouroux has also successfully led public companies as President and COO of Tumbleweed Communications, an established leader in messaging security. He joined Tumbleweed through the company's 2002 merger with publicly traded Valicert, where Vigouroux served as President and CEO.
Vigouroux has also held leadership positions at multinational technology companies Cisco, Adobe and GE Information Services, as well as several Silicon Valley start-ups. He has led the successful fundraising efforts to bring over $50 million in new venture and private equity investment to his previous two companies.
"I am very pleased to be joining the executive team at Marshal8e6," said Vigouroux. "The people, products and technologies that have been brought together as a result of the recent mergers of Marshal, 8e6 Technologies and Avinti are truly exciting. By leveraging the company's combined Web and e-mail expertise, we will continue to grow as a leading security provider in the vital business of protecting networks from today's increasingly blended threats."
