Major upgrade to Red Brick 5.1

Red Brick Systems has announced the availability of Red Brick Warehouse 5.1.5, a major upgrade to its relational database management server (RDBMS) component of Red Brick DecisionScape.

Red Brick Warehouse 5.1.5 adds new functionality to enable more productivity in a Windows NT-based decision support environment while providing transparent scalability from NT to Unix for customers and partners developing high-performance analytic solutions. In addition, it offers new features to improve realtime analysis of data through data loading and administrative enhancements.

Red Brick products are distributed in South Africa by Software Futures, a subsidiary of Computer Configurations Holdings.

"Red Brick 5.1.5`s enhanced parallelism in a NT environment helps users implement a Red Brick solution and then deploy it to a distributed or an enterprise system without changing design," says Aubrey van Aswegen, GM of Data Futures at Software Futures. "The new features are designed to support the production and use of analytic applications in our customers` data warehousing environments, while still requiring a minimum of administration."
