Major retail chain installs Realyst`s Premises Manager product

Realyst today announced that Massdiscounters, which trades under the brand names Game and Dion, has successfully installed Realyst`s Premises Manager product, a component of the Realyst Contract Risk Management Solution Suite. This product performs a key role within a company`s premises management and governance strategy.

The Realyst premises management component has been designed by property experts to empower the users of accommodation to effectively manage their property portfolio, so as to maximise the investment made and minimise risks. Designed to hold pertinent property information, along with details of all contractual obligations, the system enables the user to proactively manage the many complexities contained within contractual lease documentation.

In addition to the functions available in the contract manager, the premises manager module has matured over the last seven years and is a functionally rich module. Realyst is utilised by its retail client base to calculate turnover rentals for example, and to pay landlords the base rental directly through EFT. Benchmarking tools, eg cost per square or turnover, can be incorporated that allow the user to benchmark individual stores against the portfolio.

The task of implementing premises manager further provides an audit of the processes, documentation, risks and information that is available per premises. Once completed the opportunity exists to analyse the information and seek avenues to deliver value.

Research conducted by the RICS indicates that by proactively managing a real estate portfolio the bottom line real estate costs will be improved by between 10% and 20%. Realyst premises manager is a tool that assists in providing the information to extract this value.
