DigiPoS system for by-the-case retailer
Majestic Wine Warehouse has completed the roll-out of 250 DigiPoS PowerPoS systems across its 122 stores.
The roll-out, which included the installation of a software application from Itim Technology Solutions, follows a successful pilot at the Marlborough and Stevenage stores which began in October 2004 to coincide with the peak Christmas trading period.
Majestic Wine Warehouse needed to upgrade its current system to be chip and PIN compliant and saw the benefits of being able to operate in a real-time business environment, and in allowing staff much enhanced access to business intelligence and customer information.
The implementation of this new EPoS solution means Majestic Wine Warehouse now has a complete in-store solution, the tools and functionality required to run all point of sale operations, and complete control and visibility over its store estate.
Jim Bendon, IT director at Majestic, said: "We selected DigiPoS to provide a cost-effective, high-end technology hardware solution. This is coupled with the unique design of the system, its supportability, the proven reliability of DigiPos components and the company`s track record in the field.
"We couldn`t have been more happy with how the implementation process was managed. It all went smoothly and without a hitch. The system has been very easy to set up and configure and has the added advantage of running off an external power supply, so even store staff can change the supply.
"The system`s neat design and small foot print have space-saving advantages and the new touchscreens, which have proved intuitive and easy to use, have meant clean and uncluttered counters."
Ian Patterson, managing director of DigiPoS Systems, said: "Our terminals are designed for reliability, durability and low cost of ownership specifically to meet the demanding operating conditions of a retail environment. We are therefore delighted that DigiPoS is fast becoming the POS hardware of choice for so many retailers."
