Tour operator African Encounters has contracted mid-market ERP solutions provider Lorge to supply and implement a SAP Business One financial and accounting software solution at its Parkhurst offices in Johannesburg.
African Encounters specialises in package tours and safaris to a variety of destinations in Tanzania and Zanzibar, including climbing Mt Kilimanjaro.
The company also offers tours to Mombasa, Egypt, Victoria Falls and other African destinations and is a member of SATOA (South African Tour Operators Association) and ASATA (Association of South African Travel Agents).
The SAP Business One solution will replace African Encounters` existing system based upon an accounting package linked to Excel. The SAP solution includes a service module that will track and log enquiries, link them to quotations and e-mail them to the enquirer.
"This will eliminate time-consuming manual processes, enabling African Encounters to respond immediately," said Ursula Saffy of Lorge`s SAP Business One corporate sales division. "The CRM function will build up a prospects database that will enable African Encounters to embark on efficient, cost-effective direct marketing on new tour packages, special offers and so on."
Lorge will also integrate the African Encounters Web site to the SAP Business One solution using I-Bolt, which provides a competitive-edge by enabling very rapid response to enquiries received on the Web site. Quotations are populated into SAP Business One immediately to further improve efficiency. The system is scheduled to go live in March 2007.
