Healthcare, life sciences and quality and safety assurance (QSA) products supplier AEC-Amersham has contracted mid-market ERP solutions provider Lorge to supply, install and implement a SAP Business One financial and accounting software solution at its headquarters in Kelvin, Johannesburg.
The SAP solution will replace a conventional standalone accounting software system with sales data entry and reporting conducted manually on Excel. Eugene Olivier, general manager of Lorge`s SAP Business One business unit, said the new SAP Business One system installation is scheduled to go live on 1 May 2006.
"The objective is to transfer the entire AEC-Amersham business into a well-controlled single software environment that fully integrates the operational and administrative requirements with the financials running in the background. The solution will also enable simple, timely generation of strategic business and operational information upon which management can make well-informed decisions."
Daily sales and other financial information from the Cape Town branch will be automatically transferred into the head office SAP Business One ERP system via a terminal server arrangement.
AEC-Amersham imports and distributes a wide range of highly specialised products and equipment from leading international brand companies to the public and private sectors, including universities, academic hospitals, pathology groups, pharmaceutical companies, industrial laboratories, food and beverage manufacturers and agricultural and veterinary institutes.
