There is no word yet on when the investigation into the Local Organising Committee (LOC) of the 2010 Fifa Soccer World Cup's IT head will be wrapped up.
This follows Zakes Mnisi's suspension last month on charges of financial impropriety - not the first to leave a mark on his career.
Last month, ITWeb reported that Mnisi had been suspended from his job pending a disciplinary investigation - which is still ongoing.
Meanwhile, it has come to light that Mnisi was fired from his previous job with state IT group arivia.kom for financial impropriety, and that the LOC did not checked his credentials with that company.
However, LOC spokesman Thumi Makgabo says all this is still subject to the investigation that is being conducted into "all aspects of [the] employee's employ".
She says charges against Mnisi have still not been finalised and no timeline for the investigation had been communicated to her.
At the time of Mnisi's suspension, 2010 LOC chairman Irvin Khoza said he wanted the investigation to be wrapped up "as soon as possible", but also did not attach a timeline to this.
