Liquid Intelligent Technologies has acquired Cairo-based tech firm Cysiv MEA to expand its business in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.

Cysiv MEA, formerly SecureMisr, specialises in providing enterprise cloud and cyber security services, particularly in the financial services sector.

Londen-based Liquid, with perations in  the UK, Africa, the US and Latin America, will use the acquisition to roll out cloud and cyber security solutions and make Egypt a key hub for the MENA region.

The company says it will rebrand Cysiv MEA to 'Liquid C2' to align it with its global cloud and cyber security identity.

ITWEB SECURITY SUMMIT 2023 | 6 TO 8 JUNE, JOHANNESBURG | 15 JUNE, CAPE TOWN

ITWeb Security Summit will feature over 50 leading international and local speakers, covering today’s hottest cyber security topics, from cyber warfare to DevSecOps, to cloud security, incident response, cyber security psychology and culture, and more. Don’t miss out on this must-attend gathering of IT, security, and business decision-makers -- book your seat today!

Sherif Shaltout, VP of operations at Cysiv MEA, says since the founding of the company  in 2008 as SecureMisr, its mission has been to provide world-class cloud and cyber security solutions "that pre-emptively protect against attacks and loss of digital assets caused by an ever-evolving threat landscape, before it affects the business”.

David Behr, CEO of Liquid C2, says Liquid recognises the critical role Cysiv MEA has been playing in the cloud and cyber security industry in Egypt and the region. "Our main task as a group is to support them in bringing more cyber security tools for our customers as they face an increasingly hostile global threat environment from cyber criminals and nation-state sponsored attackers. This will ensure that their business is protected while also meeting the demands for global compliance requirements."

* Liquid C2 is a platinum sponsor of ITWeb's 18th annual Security Summit, to be held from 6-8 June in Johannesburg.
