The mid-range LG 2020 K series line-up is now available in SA.

The three phones – K61, K51S and K41S – launched globally in February, but due to the disruption caused by the coronavirus, the local launch was delayed until now.

LG’s 2020 K series is available from MTN and Cell C stores, and starting from 7 July, they will be available at Vodacom stores.

The line-up is targeted at consumers who are looking for abudget device with all the latest smartphone features, according to the South Korean multinational firm.

All three phones have been upgraded with cameras and multimedia functions with improved all-around performance.

Each phone has a rear quad-camera array consisting of a high-resolution main camera, wide-angle lens, depth sensor and a macro lens, a first in the K series, says LGElectronics.

The 48MP main lens in the premium option (K61) is the highest resolution camera offered in an LG smartphone range, while the 32MP camera in the K51S also surpasses the pixel count of previous LG phones.

The LG K41S features a 6.5-inch 20:9 HD plus full vision display.

“The key value propositions of LG’s K series are advanced technologies and competitive pricing,” says Chang Ma, senior vice-president of the product strategy group at LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company.

“We believe the K series will be the most competitive smartphones in its category, offering features consumers really appreciate.”

The range takes on competitors Samsung’s Galaxy A-Series, Apple’s iPhone SE and Huawei’s P30 Lite, among others.

According to the South Korean telco, all three 2020 K series phones are designed with cinematically proportioned displays with thinner bezels than their predecessors, to improve the immersive viewing experience.

They have a 4 000mAh battery, with an object-based audio standard of DTS:X 3D surround sound.

Further specs are available on the LG Web site.
