Lexmark encourages green IT

During 'Earth Month', April 2008, Lexmark contributes to the Rainforest Foundation UK1 to help protect 242 hectares of rainforest, says Al Bawaba.

Earth Month forms part of Lexmark's drive to educate users to reduce paper waste. This initiative aims to help its resellers persuade end-users to print less - through printing best practices like double-sided printing.

Throughout April, Lexmark offers its reseller channel a 25% discount on a large range of printers with duplex capabilities.

Cisco partners honoured

Two of Cisco's Australian channel partners were honoured as global innovators at the networking giant's annual Partner Summit in Hawaii, states ARN.

Express Data was awarded Global Innovation Distributor of the Year, while Dimension Data received Global Solution Innovation Partner of the Year.

The organisations were among 11 partners recognised for global excellence out of a list of more than 3 000 certified Cisco partners.

Horizon plans tech centre

Horizon UK plans to open its Horizon Technology Centre which will allow resellers to showcase existing and future technologies to their customers, reports CRN.

The distributor will base the centre at its Basingstoke office, but will link the two facilities via a WAN, which will showcase technologies from vendors such as Sun, EMC, CommVault, Nortel, ShoreTel, F5, Microsoft and Tandberg.

Resellers will be able to run proof of concept projects, which include virtualisation, Microsoft exchange, backup and recovery, archiving, video conferencing, database security, VOIP and unified communications.
