Lejara Enterprise Solutions (Lejara), the largest supplier and market leader of business intelligence services in Africa, has acquired a significant stake in Bridge People and Technology (Bridge).
Bridge is a leading supplier of e-learning software and solutions in South Africa and abroad, having provided solutions to a number of global organisations in Europe and the USA.
Lucas Mothupi, the CEO of Lejara, says: "The bringing together of Bridge and Lejara will mean both companies will benefit from each other, both in terms of market penetration, as well as from expertise. For a while, Lejara has been looking for a solid training partner, and Bridge not only provides that, but so much more as well: with its leading e-learning software and innovative solutions, we will now be able to offer our clients a totally integrated solution."
Lucas also values Bridge`s global reach - something which will assist Lejara`s international expansion plans in 2007. According to Bridge MD Justin Ashley, Lejara provides just what Bridge has been looking for in a partner.
"Lejara has the same entrepreneurial culture as we do in Bridge," he says. "And Lejara has focused on an exciting area of SAP consulting in business intelligence and supply chain management (mySAP SCM and mySAP SRM), and has achieved impressive market leadership in a relatively short period of time - just as we have in the e-learning market with Bridge."
Furthermore, Bridge and Lejara`s businesses complement each other in the sphere of evaluation and performance. "A key area of our training solution is measuring the impact that training has on business improvement. By merging with Lejara, a company that specialises in exactly that, we found a fit that not only provides us with a solid BEE component, but also one that complements our solutions."
Bridge will continue to trade under the Bridge brand, and the product offerings, namely KnowHow, CourseWare (FlowHow and ShowHow) and the E1 Methodology will remain. The founders and directors of Bridge, Justin Ashley and Gary Galanti, will be joined on the board by two Lejara representatives.
