Micromuse Inc, the leading provider of ultra-scalable, real-time business and service assurance software, and LDMI Telecommunications, a leading integrated communications provider serving business customers in Michigan and Ohio, announced today that LDMI is deploying Netcool solutions as the core network management foundation for its IP-based infrastructure which delivers local and long distance phone service and data services such as high-speed connectivity, security, Web hosting and network services.
"Netcool gives us the most comprehensive visibility into the network and provides us with the best service assurance available," said Kim McDonald, LDMI Executive Vice-President of Operations. "The solution integrates seamlessly with COMX, our new customer-focused operating system, and is highly scalable to meet our growth demands. Most importantly, our customers who have complex data requirements can rest assured that LDMI is proactively working to resolve service-impacting issues, usually contacting the customer before they are even aware of the event."
LDMI Telecommunications, the largest telecom company headquartered in the Midwest, selected Netcool to provide the most advanced, real-time fault and performance management available in the industry. LDMI is deploying the Netcool suite of service assurance solutions to collect and consolidate real-time data from across its network, analyse the data, automate responses, and inform customers and management about service-impacting network issues. Netcool is widely considered the premier, end-to-end fault and performance management solution in the industry, and is used by the top 20 largest telecommunications providers in the world.
LDMI will deploy the Netcool suite in phases during the next several months. The first phase, which has been completed, delivers around-the-clock real-time monitoring and reporting of availability and performance for thousands of LDMI network elements. Already Netcool is enabling LDMI to generate customer trouble tickets without first receiving a call from the customer. The next phase of Netcool implementation will automatically escalate unresolved alerts from the LDMI Network Operations Centre to senior management. It will also support LDMI`s plans to customise network service levels for individual customers and provide customers online reporting of their network usage.
generationE Technologies, a premier Micromuse channel partner and systems integrator, has teamed with LDMI to design and deploy the system. generationE was selected as the solution provider because of its extensive experience with sophisticated business service management systems, especially Netcool-based systems.
"Our goal is to roll-out the solution in a manner that drives increased business value from LDMI`s infrastructure," commented Casey Kindiger, CEO of generationE Technologies.
"Netcool`s ultra scalable technology will help LDMI as it continues to invest in product development, network capacity and technology advancements to provide their customers with the highly available services they demand," said Craig Farrell, Micromuse CTO.
The ability to manage complex, reliable performance and QoS metrics is critical to the success of today`s fast-paced service providers. With both time and resources at a premium, successful companies rely on Netcool for end-to-end service management solutions that work, so they can focus on growing their business.
