Layer 7 Technologies, represented locally by Blue Turtle Technologies, has announced the launch of SecureSpan Gateway Amazon Machine Image (AMI) to simplify integration of hybrid Enterprise/Amazon's Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) applications.
According to Martyn Healy, Marketing Director, Blue Turtle Technologies, the SecureSpan Gateway AMI allows organisations to safely integrate vital applications deployed on Amazon EC2, enabling them to optimise their IT environment. “The gateway provides security at the application/Web services layer, which allows organisations to link these applications on Amazon EC2 back to the enterprise using Web services.”
Layer 7 simplifies the operation of hybrid enterprise/EC2 applications through dynamically deployable Web services gateways that can be provisioned inside both the enterprise and the Amazon cloud. With Layer 7, organisations can now make EC2-run applications appear as extended parts of their own enterprise.
Layer 7's SecureSpan Gateway AMI complements Amazon's recently announced Virtual Private Cloud offering. Layer 7 is removing another barrier to deploying mission-critical enterprise applications in the cloud. Amazon's VPC connects enterprise applications and EC2 at the network layer, while the Layer 7 AMI secures these transactions at the application data and API level.
The Layer 7 SecureSpan Gateway AMI is available for a free 30-day trial at Layer 7's Web site and Amazon's Web Services Developer Web site.
