A significant investment in testing has ensured that KRONE has recently received third-party test certificates from Delta at a component level to add to those already received from ETL and UL.
The comprehensive list includes certificates for jacks, patch panels, outlets, cable and patch cords and these are available for downloading.
While we, like many of our competitors, have certificates of performance at a channel or permanent link level, this is no guarantee of component compliance. The only way that standard compliant performance can be fully assured is to build the channel out of component-compliant products. All KRONE products meet the necessary Category 5e and Category 6 Standards at a component level.
All the certificates received reflect the performance of the products being manufactured with KRONE manufacturing facilities today and are not handcrafted `lab produced` samples created specifically for a one-off test. As part of the third-party certification procedure, an auditing process is in place to ensure that the performance from products off the production line is tested at regular intervals.
Parts of the market are not aware that poor performing Category 5e products are an issue. However, the current testing of Category 5e patchcords we have been doing has highlighted that despite Category 5e products being available for several years, there are a significant number of Category 5e products on the market that do not comply with the Category 5e (or even Category 5) Standards. Compliance to the Category 6 standard is even more difficult to achieve.
