Bidvest company, Konica Minolta South Africa, has confirmed it will continue to support the bizhub Highveld Lions cricket team for the sixth consecutive season, by renewing its sponsorship for the 2011/2012 period, to the tune of R2.3 million.
The Lions Cricket Academy for talented young players, from their respective amateur academies in Potchefstroom and Johannesburg, will also continue to benefit from the Konica Minolta South Africa sponsorship.
“Konica Minolta South Africa is proud to continue with our patronage of the bizhub Highveld Lions cricket team for the sixth year running,” says Janine Ferreira, Konica Minolta South Africa public relations officer. “We do it for the love of the sport and hope that, with this investment, the bizhub Lions can continue to develop its players, and ultimately, enrich the game of cricket in South Africa.”
“Sponsors are invaluable to sport and are what enable us to do what we need to,” says Cassim Docrat, CEO of the bizhub Highveld Lions. “Renewing our naming rights sponsorship with Konica Minolta South Africa is a sign of a truly dedicated sponsor, and we look forward to reaching new heights with them in the coming season.”
