Kerstin Speer to leave Ixchange

Johannesburg, 04 Dec 2000

Ixchange chief executive Derek Kreunen announced today that the group`s financial director, Kerstin Speer, is to leave the company at the end of December.

Speer is to take up a senior position with an information technology company in south-east Asia.

Kreunen thanked Speer for her contribution, saying she had helped to drive Ixchange`s growth since joining in September 1998. With annual revenues expected to approach R1-billion in its current financial year, more than 90% of which will be generated outside South Africa, the company has undergone dramatic change.

Speer said she had relished her time at Ixchange. "I`ve been approached with an excellent international opportunity to further my career. The time is right for me to take on another challenge."

Kreunen said Ixchange was in discussions with several prominent individuals with a view to succession. He said the company`s close working relationship with auditors Deloitte and Touche and corporate advisers NIB would assist during the transition.
