Kaspersky brings Endpoint Security 8 to SA

Johannesburg, 10 Jun 2011

The Kaspersky Endpoint Security 8 for Linux will be released in SA in the third quarter through the security vendor's distributor, Westcon.

According to Kaspersky Lab, the new protection software will be available as part of Kaspersky Work Space Security, Kaspersky Open Space Security, Kaspersky Business Space Security and Kaspersky Enterprise Space Security.

It says Kaspersky Endpoint Security 8 provides maximum protection for Linux-based systems and can be integrated into the corporate IT environment for purposes of centralised administration, gathering statistics and enforcing global security policies.

The software includes Kaspersky Anti-Virus Engine 8.0 and supports configuring custom parameters for scanning specific areas of the system on a regular basis, it notes, adding that anti-virus protection is provided in real-time, as well as on-demand and on-schedule.

According to the security vendor, its latest offering is a combination of the previous versions of Kaspersky Anti-Virus 5.7 for Linux and Kaspersky Anti-Virus 5.5 for Samba.

The company says pricing will vary depending on the corporate product suite chosen as well as the size of the network.
