Jayendra Naidoo resigned as Faritec non-executive director as from Friday, says the listed IT company.

Faritec did not provide reasons for Naidoo's resignation, but thanked him for “his valuable contribution over the past years”.

Naidoo was appointed to Faritec's board on 17 July 2003 and has a BProc from Unisa.

He is chairman of the J&J Group - a company he started with former Cabinet minister Jay Naidoo. He was the first executive director of Nedlac and has been involved in leading various significant political, labour, government and commercial negotiations.

Faritec has seen several board changes since Shoden Data Systems took up a majority stake in the company for R29 million.

Fanie van Rensburg joined as CEO from August and, earlier in July, the group appointed a financial director, Arvind Kumar Gupta.

Gupta replaced Tshidi Nyembe, who quit in April. Nyembe's resignation was followed by that of CEO Simon Tomlinson, as the company's financial future came under scrutiny.
