A new era of data privacy has dawned, as the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) is now in effect.
This law, which has been in the works since 2013, is important to us at ITWeb, as it seeks to promote transparency with regard to what information we collect and how we process it.
The law also makes South African companies, like ITWeb, globally competitive in terms of international data exchange laws.
The new Act will also help to better protect your personal data.
Over the years, you may have subscribed to any of ITWeb’s digital channels, such as the newsletters to get the latest ICT news and industry updates, invitations to participate in surveys, join roundtables or attend events, or receive updates about our editorial projects.
As our valued reader, if you still find these channels important, you do not have to do anything.
However, as per POPIA, if you do not want to receive any correspondence from ITWeb, we have “unsubscribe” options on all our electronic channels that you can make use of.
If you don't take any action, you will continue to receive our newsletters and updates focused on content covering ICT news.
