Itec has launched the PRO 950 designed to meet the on-demand needs of the light production market and in-house printing departments. It combines high output speed and a range of finishing capabilities with excellent imaging quality and cost performance. It also offers versatile networkability for office or printing environments.
The Itec PRO 950 replaces the PRO 920 and features faster print speed of 5 700 images per hour, wider media latitude, an intuitive 12.1-inch LCD panel, and a continuous high-coverage printing mode to ensure image density.
“The Itec PRO line is designed to expand the array of output services offered by production print businesses that need cost-effective solutions for small-lot, on-demand jobs while still keeping a high degree of flexibility and an advanced selection of finishing features,” says Nick Constantinou, business development manager at Itec.
“The PRO 950 makes this same level of performance available to offices in need of a fast, reliable way to handle complex, large-scale jobs.”
Productivity and reliability
Paper weights from 40 to 300g/m2 are handled with ease, a paper capacity of 6 650 pages makes it able to handle large-scale jobs and flexibility to handle sizes from postcard up to A3 wide makes this device a must.
Numerous finishing options
Users have access to 2-fold, letter-fold and Z-folding, multi-position stapling, and post insertion of cover and inner sheets from separate sources. Centre stapling and trimming are also available for producing professional-level booklets.
“These capabilities, together with the PRO 950's ability to prepare pages for binding and its subset stapling feature allowing separate staple settings for groups of pages within a document, give users a higher degree of flexibility in document production,” says Constantinou.
High image quality and stability
The PRO 950 uses Simitri polymerised toner which delivers better particle uniformity than traditional pulverised toners. New PS Plug-in Driver applications include a screen pattern selection mode that lets users choose the ideal screen for each output type, CIE colour settings for more precise gradations and a tone curve utility for adjusting density, contrast and brightness before printing.
To increase image stability, new continuous high-coverage printing modes let users choose between high output quality and output speed. There are also improved error-correction features to minimise misfeeding and misalignment.

The high-speed scanning function of 95 original per minute allows users to transfer scan data directly to a variety of locations, including e-mail addresses, FTP and SMB servers, PCs, the PRO 950's internal HDD, or to any combination simultaneously.
Compatibility with the IPv6 network protocol increases network addressing capabilities, and encryption of PDF and XPS files during sending keep private information safe. Other security features include user authentication, protection or deletion of old data, and logging of all activity for administrator review.
