Ispat Iscor Limited, the dominant steel producer in Africa, recently signed a three-year network outsourcing contract with Dimension Data.
The deal sees Dimension Data providing an outsourced network management solution to 19 sites across SA. Through its Managed Enterprise Network (MEN) service offering, Dimension Data will assume the responsibility of managing, operating and optimising Ispat Iscor`s wide area network (WAN) infrastructure.
"Outsourcing the day-to-day management of the enterprise network to a specialist third-party frees Ispat Iscor from the expense and effort of managing its own network environment," says Jeff Jack, technology marketing manager for Dimension Data`s Network Solutions division.
Dimension Data will provide Ispat Iscor with a customised suite of professional and operational services that is based on its Global Services Operating Architecture. This includes consulting and assessment services, real-time service-level governed management and monitoring as well as telecommunication management.

MEN is a service offering managed by Dimension Data Network Solutions. It operates the network infrastructure, performs regular health checks, provides feedback and optimises the environment on customers` behalf.
