An affordable complete IP network is now available throughout Avianto Lifestyle Estate, one of South Africa's first integrated estates. Fibre Internet, voice and video services are now easily accessible to occupants. This initiative is powered by leading South African telecoms and Internet service provider, BitCo.
Avianto seeks to be the premier living and business estate in Northern Gauteng. BitCo has made this possible by providing next-generation technology throughout the estate. This is Metro Ethernet signalling over a fibre-optic backbone.
Owner and CEO of Avianto, Trevor D'Oliveira, says: "Connection to the Avianto local area network allows for fast activation of high-speed, reliable services. The cherry on top is that telephone communication within the estate is free. We are pleased to announce this offering. This added convenience aligns well with our vision to create a truly unique environment for our residents."
Optic fibre is renowned for its high capacity capabilities. It is robust, increasing reliability. The solution is designed to provide users the benefits of fibre in cost-effective packages. Options between bandwidth size and speed cater for home, small and medium businesses budgets, while the network's capacity caters for large or corporate business's insatiable Internet appetites.

Current perception is that fibre to the home services are too expensive for the end-consumers because of the cost involved with laying fibre. "We know the market is itching for an economical fibre solution. BitCo has specially devised highly competitive rates with this offering, compensating for the costs ourselves in order to make this a viable option for consumers," says BitCo Sales Director, Michael Colin.
BitCo aims to collaborate with more residential estates and corporate offices park on similar projects. Each location can be used as exchange nodes. This helps BitCo to increase its fibre footprint. The larger the footprint, the more economic fibre will be for BitCo consumers.
